Side Trench & Transverse Trench:

  • Side Trench:
    A drainage that is constructed on the road’s side is called a ‘Side Trench’. Relation between car and the grating of the trench cover: The car passes through at a right angle to the load bars (parrallel with the cross bars).

  • Transverse Trench:
    A drainage that is constructed across a road is called a ‘Transverse Trench’. Relation between car and the grating of the trench cover: The car passes through parallel with the bearing bars.

Transverse trench

U-Trench:
U-trenches are used as trench covers by placing them on the U-type concrete trenches. Recommended for walkways only.
